Quiet Mind Mountain Lodge, Retreat & Spa
We chose this lodge for a last-minute overnight trip to visit the town of Julian. It was a remarkably good find! Built conceptually as a Buddhist retreat, the lodge provides a restful, contemplative space for the weary traveler. There is no 'up-sell' of spa services, although a range of services are available on request. We were in a suite overlooking the lake. The suite itself was well-appointed if somewhat sparsely decorated - rather in keeping with the Buddhist concept. There was a large balcony, with two rocking chairs and two sun loungers; it only lacked a small table for drinks. The shower was good, and body wash and shampoo was provided. The towels were soft and plentiful - we requested extra for our trip to the hot tub. The included robes were delightful! The room included internet, TV, a small refrigerator and a selection of snacks. We thought all the snacks overpriced, as they often are in hotels, so we didn't use any of them. We had brought our own snacks and soda, so the refrigerator was welcome. The bedroom door had an external curtain which could be closed at night, and on the inside the door was padded to reduce noise. Oddly, we found there was a loud whistle from the air conditioning when the door was closed; but we fixed that easily by opening the sliding door to the patio just a quarter inch to allow air flow through the room. We turned off the through-the-wall air conditioner - I'm not quite sure why they had that since there is also a central air conditioning system. The lodge has a general rule asking visitors to avoid cell phone calls outdoors, and a general sense that low voices and light footsteps should be used. For the most part this worked, keeping ambient noise at a minimum. Unfortunately, the lodge cannot control everything, and one couple staying had no concept of using 'low voices'. There is a charming garden area at the front of the hotel, which includes a hot tub.

Quiet Mind Mountain Lodge was just what we needed and more! We stayed 2 nights in one of the Suites with Lake View and it was wonderful. We loved the quiet spaces, library, and the meditation room. The room was comfortable and the view was amazing. The highlight was definitely the jacuzzi at sunset. Gorgeous views and we even spotted some deer close by while we were enjoying the hot tub. The continental breakfast included in our stay also exceeded our expectations. I was happy they didn't serve things out of packets. The oatmeal was cooked in the morning, there was fresh fruit, croissants, bagels, cheese, jam, cream cheese, eggs, muffins, yogurt, coffee and tea. It was a nice spread. The staff was nice and helpful. Lovely Sarah checked us in when we arrived and just by talking to her you already feel relaxed! I highly recommend it and I can't wait to go back!

This is a very special place. It has lots of authentic ancient artifacts from Asia, including a door to the meditation hall. Quiet, clean, peaceful, excellent bed and bed linen. Wonderful food. Very friendly people. Breakfast is amazing too and starts early. Sure it was a motel many many years ago but it has since been extensively remodeled. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend a night here. And for the price .... It's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive either. And here, the experience really is unique. Where else can you be next to amazing artifacts from Tibet and Nepal, some are 500 years old?? I really recommend this place.

The place is spacious, and there's many things to do, like relaxing in the jacuzzi, getting a massage, and playing games like chess or cards. It's a real retreat, It's quiet, the view is majestic! The staff is so friendly, breakfast is really delicious and a lot of variety. We really recommend this place. Thank you so much. Btw the Stars at night are something else!!

A nice quiet place away from the hustle and bustle. I would definitely stay here again. This Tibetan themed hotel is showing signs of age/wear & tear but still quaint, comfortable and clean. I had a great view of the lake. Breakfast had fresh fruit, freshly made oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, pastries, coffee, tea and orange juice. I loved that they had a spa with so many great massages and treatments available, however they were a bit pricey. I feel the price I paid for my room was a great deal, especially for CA! (about $135TL)
